FIRE & STORY - ANIMATION

A projection piece created for Fire & Story, an annual winter festival produced by Paper Whale in Bellingham, Washington. The work responds to an outdoor community event centered around storytelling, light, and folklore, exploring how shared narratives can be shaped through atmosphere, memory, and collective experience.

The visual direction draws from themes of fire, spirit, and myth, using light and distortion to construct an immersive narrative environment.

Red Giant and Trap Code Particular were used to simulate flickering and particles in the sky, mirroring the qualities of fire and the northern lights.

Designed for large-scale projection, we focused on a centered design structure to complement the verticality of the structure it was projected onto.
